The word "ego" is often associated with egoism, such negative qualities as arrogance, arrogance. Someone even tries to fight him. But this is not an easy task, because the ego is a set of distinctive features of a person by which those around him are identified among other people. Character, behaviors, habits, principles, knowledge, skills, desires, goals - if you remove all this, it seems that a person will not remain. If by ego we mean excessive obsession with oneself, something can be done here.

Usually a person is focused on himself from morning till night. Whatever he does and with whoever he is, mentally he always solves his problems, makes his plans. It is natural, the world is so arranged that everyone lives with his own desires and interests. To diversify your life and expand your perception, try to pay more attention to surrounding people and objects. Walking along the street, do not look thoughtfully under your feet. Better take a look at passers-by, mentally describe them, think about what they can do and how they live. Pay attention to the surroundings - streets, trees, the sun, animals. You will notice that for a moment you could forget about yourself (and about your problems at the same time). In addition, this exercise helps to better understand other people and improves communication.

2

Do not divide the world into "I - not I", "mine - not mine." This distinction is often conditional and relative. Such a perception can limit thinking, creativity, does not allow you to see new opportunities and respond to them. Such internal censorship, like a filter, eliminates everything that is “not yours” in your view. The tendency to think with stereotypes and be guided once by established standards closes a person from development; it is precisely this that prevents him from finding himself. Mentally allow into your personal space what was previously considered unacceptable for yourself, and follow the sensations - they can be interesting.

3

Stop identifying yourself only by public labels. Such labels can be "graduate of a prestigious university", "employee of a certain company", "owner of a car of a certain brand", "husband", "mother of three children." These are just particles, separate aspects of your personality. In fact, there are many more of these roles. And they can change, and you yourself can change. Try to feel your real self. You would be yourself even with a different name, in another country, in a different environment. This is the core of the personality, which in many ways resembles the ego, but is not similar to it. After all, the ego is changeable and inconstant. But this is an integral part of any person.
