Many people are familiar with this all-consuming feeling - laziness. Why does it arise and how to deal with it?

The most common cause of laziness is the mismatch of goals with actions or lack of goals as such. If you want to work outside the profession after university, then, of course, you will be completely lazy to study, because you do not have a clear goal of getting education in this institution. To motivate yourself, you need to find these goals, make a list and re-read it every time it becomes too lazy to learn. These may be goals that do not cover the entire study as a whole, but, for example, for individual disciplines or exams.

The opposite reason - a person sets himself too large and overwhelming goals. The task seems so huge and impossible that the start of its implementation would be postponed as far as possible. The solution is very simple - break your big goal into many small and feasible points. If we continue the topic of exams, we can take individual topics or even questions as goals, deleting them gradually from our plan. It’s easier to move towards the intended goal, and progress is clearly visible.

Reason number three is perfectionism. Perfectionists need everything to be perfect, including the conditions in which they will start some kind of business. But, as a rule, ideal conditions are rare. The way to deal with perfectionism is to determine which conditions you consider ideal, think which ones are really real, necessary and whether you can influence them. If you can - draw up a plan of movement towards the intended goal, including the creation of the necessary conditions. If you cannot influence the conditions, the only way out is to admit that there is no ideal moment and you need to act here and now.

Another reason is fatigue. Some people are really lazy because of fatigue, although almost everyone says this reason. Because of true fatigue, laziness is given to those people who work around the clock and do not give themselves time to rest - they take overtime, work on weekends and on vacation. In such a situation and during working hours, everything begins to fall out of hand and it becomes difficult to start a new task. The only way out is to learn how to relax! Rest is not an extra time for work, it is a time for recovery for our psyche and body. Learn to spend time relaxing for the benefit of yourself and your body.
