We all sometimes experience negative emotions. This is a normal property of the human soul. No matter how we deny, we also experience anger. In our culture, getting angry is not accepted. Although simply forbidding yourself to be angry is unproductive and unprofitable for the psyche. Often, when we forbid ourselves to experience certain emotions, we get the opposite result - anger becomes even stronger. What to do to calm down?

Just banning emotions and feelings for yourself, blocking them is a cardinal mistake. If feelings arose, then there were reasons. So for starters, just allow yourself to experience the full range of feelings and emotions; confess to yourself in your experiences. Speaking in words of what you are experiencing already greatly reduces the degree of experience. Sometimes the phrase: "I'm wildly angry now" has a striking calming effect.

Always remember that there is a difference between emotions and actions under their influence. For example, getting angry is perfectly acceptable. But to arrange a fight because of this - no longer. After acknowledging your feelings, you should let off steam. Any negative emotion needs physical discharge. Otherwise, you risk getting health problems. Sandwiched inside emotions lead, for example, to heart disease.

Therefore, look for an acceptable version of the physical expression of anger: perhaps you will tear paper, beat unnecessary dishes or do boxing after work. The first discharge of emotions is desirable directly while you are angry. Retire if those around you are embarrassed. It is also better to leave if the situation concerns a relationship with a small child: you will not frighten him and avoid the opportunity to direct your anger at him. Scream, beat the pillow - do what your body asks for until you feel that anger is weakening. Do not be afraid that it will last forever. Sooner or later, you will begin to calm down.

Any sport is perfect for the delayed discharge of accumulated anger and irritation. Remember that anger is energy that accumulates in the muscles and which must be spent in the direction you need.

Another great way to deal with your annoyance and anger is humor. Turn the situation into a joke, laugh at it; you will immediately feel the anger disappear. Humor is a purely human ability with a tremendous psychotherapeutic effect. A person who knows how to treat everything with healthy humor is much more healthy mentally and protected than someone who always takes everything to heart.

The basic rule is to pacify the raging emotions: allow yourself to experience them and find your own way to physically express them or find an opportunity to relate to the situation with humor.
