Each of us has its own system of values, which can be attributed to four categories: ideological, material, emotional and vital. To the ideological belong our moral concepts, ideological and political beliefs. Everything related to money relates to material values: career growth, place of work, salary. Emotional values are associated with feelings: love, hate, friendship. Vital is all that is connected with life - family, health. How to determine human values ?
Instruction manual
one
The surest way to learn about the life values of any person is his story about himself. Listen to people's stories more often, ask questions, and you can clearly define their system of life values within 10 minutes. Pay attention to those moments in the biography of each person where he makes a choice - he wanted to marry one, and married another; wanted to go to college, but went to the army; could make a brilliant career in one place, but went to work in another, where they paid less.
2
Analyze the interlocutor’s story. As a rule, in each of us one of the four indicated types predominates. If your counterpart is an idealist, then, most often, his choice was determined by ideological considerations, such as the search for the meaning of life, ways of perfection, etc. If he is a materialist, then his life is devoted to the accumulation of wealth, and his whole choice was determined by this task. An emotional person always makes a choice based on his own emotions: under the influence of some feelings, he got married, under the influence of others, he divorced or changed jobs. If the choice was determined by the desire to maintain health, family, the need to raise good children, then you have a vitalist.
Useful advice
Typical representatives of one of these categories can rarely be found, usually, we have one particular value system prevailing, and all the rest are in varying degrees of depression.
