It’s scary to imagine how terrible a human life could be without feelings. There would be no such concepts as love, tenderness, friendship, justice. A man would not know pleasure.

What are feelings and why are they needed?

Feelings are a person’s attitude to reality, vivid emotional experiences. They are not given to a person from birth, feelings are formed with the development of consciousness, under the influence of education, environment, art, family. Feelings in intensity are more pronounced than, for example, mood. The mood can be just good, and the feeling of joy and happiness captures the whole. However, unlike moods, feelings cannot last long. A person feels something under certain circumstances, or when recalling these circumstances. More often than not, people know what reasons cause them or other feelings, for example, a long-awaited purchase, a scary movie, or a successful transaction.

Feelings can be of varying strength and duration, they motivate human behavior, guide, showing what is important and what is not. Feelings also help in non-verbal communication: for example, if it is nice to see a person, a smile appears on the face that is easily read by other people. Thanks to a huge variety of feelings, a person can enjoy all the facets of our many-sided life.
