However, most elderly people, as well as clergy, categorically prohibit work on Sunday, and even provide clear reasons for this.
So why not clean up on Sunday?
The answer to this question can be found in the Holy Book - the Bible, which says that 6 days of the week are allotted for work, in which you need to work tirelessly, the seventh day is Sunday, you need to devote to the Lord. Other scriptures say that you cannot sweep and take out garbage on Sundays, as you can also sweep away self-respect. Failure to comply with these rules, as well as a lack of loyalty to church holidays and Sundays, over time can lead to a loss of desire to live and die before the deadline specified by the Lord.
For most people who have Saturday and Sunday the only way to redo all their affairs, a ban on work on the seventh day of the week can cause aggression, because it is impossible to redo the things that have accumulated over the week in one day.
But, as the ministers say, on Sundays it is necessary to attend church, go to visit relatives and friends, read interesting or informative books, engage in self-improvement, and so on. In addition, on Sunday it is necessary to perform various good deeds, to render assistance to the legally incompetent, even if it takes a lot of time and physical strength.
But, like in any other case, the refusal of physical housework on a Sunday has its own refutation. For example, if the mother and the hostess refuse to clean the apartment and cook dinner, the family will remain hungry and in an untidy room, and this is also not very Christian.
Not so long ago, I personally had a chance to talk with a clergyman, the conversation was quite informative and to my question: “why you can’t work on holidays, because physical labor is not a sin”, the priest replied that if things are urgent, you can do them any day of the week, the main thing is to cross yourself before this and ask the Lord for forgiveness and help in current affairs.
