There are many people who find communication difficult. Especially if there is a need to speak with a stranger or speak to a large audience. Fear covers them, they are subconsciously sure that they will make a mistake, they will say something wrong, they will laugh at them. First of all, try to understand that your fear is not based on anything. You are surrounded not by malicious detractors who are specially waiting for your oversight to make fun of, but ordinary people, just like you. As for possible mistakes, even geniuses are not immune from them.

To ensure that you don’t get into embarrassing situations, enter into a conversation when it comes to things that you are good at. In such cases, the probability of error is minimal, and awareness of this will give you self-confidence. Fear will gradually begin to recede, and you can maintain a conversation on almost any topic. If it is boring or incomprehensible to you, limit yourself to short, neutral phrases. The main thing - do not be silent.

A very good way to overcome your fear of communication is to act on the principle of "kick out a wedge with a wedge." If you are afraid of the need to talk with other people, literally force yourself to do this. Contact your salesperson in a store, with a ticket teller, or with a duty officer at an administrative agency. Try to start a conversation with anyone: a neighbor walking a dog, a coworker at work, even if you don’t really care, a random companion in a train car, etc. Let it be only two or three short phrases, on the most neutral topics, for example, about the weather. You will soon see that talking to strangers is not at all scary. And after that, you can already proceed to longer conversations.

If you still find it difficult to communicate in reality, try to overcome your fear with the help of phone calls or skype communication in voice mode. Without seeing the interlocutor, it will be easier for you to get used to the idea that in a conversation with outsiders there is nothing to worry about!
