In matters of meditation, we are very far behind the countries of the eastern and western world. There, this lesson became a mass trend, and today it is practiced in schools, hospitals, prisons, offices and other institutions of various kinds. Scientists have been studying meditation for decades, doctors recommend, many people practice. And why? Yes, because it works!

One short meditation is enough to feel more relaxed and rested. Scientists discovered this phenomenon by studying the brain during meditation. Our continuous mental activity occurs with the activation of beta waves, with a decrease in this activity, our brain is cleansed of the flow of thoughts and a state of deep relaxation sets in. In other words, when we meditate, our brain rests from a continuous stream of processed information.

Meditation helps to cope with depressive conditions and reduces stress levels. To prove this thesis, one of the studies in this area can be cited as an example: Scientists from the universities of Harvard and Siena conducted an experiment on a group of participants who had never before meditated. For eight weeks, they studied various techniques and indicators of psychological tests carried out before and after the course, revealed a decrease in stress and anxiety in each of the participants. MRI analysis was not without, the comparison showed an "increase in the thickness of the cerebral cortex in the part responsible for emotions and perception", which also positively affects the reduction of anxiety, anxiety, depression and alexithymia.

Meditation increases productivity and concentration. This time, scientists from the Universities of Washington and Arizona conducted a study that determined that meditation helps us work more efficiently in a multitasking situation, maintains focus on one lesson for longer, and also solves the problem of distraction. A group of office workers also conducted a series of tests before and after a course of meditation, where they had to show their abilities in solving many problems under stress, i.e. constant calls, mail messages, urgent tasks. At the end of the course, the productivity of workers who did not participate in the experiment was compared with the group that completed the course, as a result, the meditating group was less distracted during tasks and kept its concentration longer.

Meditation enhances creativity. She beneficial effect on creativity, during various surveys, practitioners noted that regularly meditating develops the ability to think outside the box, and often in the process of meditation come original and creative ideas and solutions.

Meditation teaches us to live in the present and to better understand ourselves. After analyzing your thoughts, you will find that most of them are thoughts about the past or worries about the future, we experience bitterness about the irrevocable and anxiety about the unknown, and thereby miss life. When we meditate, all our attention, mind and body are in the present moment, here and now, where there is no time and place to pile up problems, there is only this moment. At such moments, we more deeply understand the sacredness of life, the work of the mind subsides, and we can hear the true answers that have always been within us.

Having learned this simple technique and made it a habit, you will begin to pay attention to such things as a gap between two thoughts, a brief silence between the words in a conversation, the interval between two notes in the piano, the pause between inhalation and exhalation, and this, of course will make your life more beautiful.
