The way in which a person receives and processes information determines his inclinations, interests, as well as the type of activity where he can best reveal himself. To determine your type of thinking, carefully read the five lists of statements below. Each of them corresponds to a certain mentality. Choose the list that best describes your qualities.

Substantive thinking. It is inextricably linked with action, with the manipulation of objects. “Golden hands” are often said about people with this type of thinking; it will be difficult to realize the most brilliant idea without them. Among the representatives of this category can be both locksmiths, drivers, furniture collectors, as well as artists, dancers, athletes. Abstract-symbolic thinking. Theoretical physicists, programmers, mathematicians, economists and other people of science often possess this type of thinking. Verbal-logical. People with this type of thinking become good teachers, scientists, translators, writers, journalists, television presenters. They easily express thoughts in words and convey them to others. Clearly shaped. This type of thinking distinguishes people with an artistic mindset: artists, poets, writers, directors, architects. They subtly feel the beauty, think in images and can imagine in their imagination the most fantastic things. You are in this category if: - You are interested in painting, sculpture. - Familiar melodies, smells evoke pictures of the past in your head. - Do you like poetry. - Dostoevsky was right in saying that beauty will save the world. - The plot of a film or a book read you recall as a series of images. - It will not be difficult for you to imagine a non-existent animal. - You seem interested in the work of a writer, screenwriter or graphic artist. - You like to attend spectacular events, but museums seem boring to you.

Creative thinking (creativity). Researchers, as a rule, do not attribute creativity to a separate type of thinking, since it can be characteristic of each of them and allows achieving success in any field of activity. You think creatively and know how to find non-standard solutions if you agree with the statements: - Abstract painting awakens your imagination. - A work in which everything is clearly defined and regulated is boring. - You like to fantasize. - The process of activity is often more interesting than its final result. - The abundance of hobbies makes life more interesting. - You often doubt even what seems obvious to others. - Even a well-established process can be improved. - You do not like to go the same way and generally subordinate life to certain schemes.

It is difficult to determine the type of thinking, because they are rarely found in their pure form, but one of them can prevail over the others.
