In the process of self-knowledge, a person forms an opinion about himself: his abilities and capabilities. A person determines his moral principles and psychological qualities, as well as his place in society. As a result, an adequate, underestimated or inflated self-esteem develops, on the basis of which there is interaction and adoption of decisions that are responsible in life.

Adequate self-esteem

When a person is in harmony with himself and the world around him, he develops the correct self-esteem. He strives to be objective towards himself, close people and acquaintances: he understands that each person has his own strengths and weaknesses, notices them, but does not focus on negative qualities.

The personality accepts itself and others as it is and acts on the basis of available objective data. Such a person soberly assesses his abilities and seeks to fully realize himself as a person. He calmly refers to failures, other people's opinions and does not expect help from others.

A person with adequate self-esteem counts on himself, is active and optimistic about life.

Low self-esteem

If a person has low self-esteem, he behaves timidly and uncertainly. He decided for himself that in many ways he loses to those around him and is not able to change anything. As a result of the existing inferiority complex, there is a lack of high goals and achievements.

A person strives to be inconspicuous, easily vulnerable and constantly seeks advice. He is dependent on the opinions of others, uninitiated and weak-minded.

Excessive insecurity and self-criticism arise as a result of improper upbringing, which involves hyper-custody or power attitude. As a result, a loser behavior model is formed: the possibility of success is denied in the mind and a search is made for those guilty of their trials.

People with low self-esteem are not able to realize their natural abilities.
