In the spring, many see boxes with seedlings on the windows. They begin to grow it in advance, so that later, when it becomes warmer, it can be transplanted to the beds in the garden. The further crop depends on correctly grown seedlings. But very often, seedlings die even on the windowsill, without waiting for the moment of planting. This happens for several reasons.

The first sign that seedlings are not all right is yellowing of the leaves. The reason for this is bright sunlight and poor watering. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to ventilate the room more often, make sure that the earth does not dry out, and most importantly - do not leave plants in direct sunlight. The absence of light and nitrogen leads to the fact that the plants are weakened and cannot grow further. So that the seedlings do not die, you need to organize additional light and feed it with urea every week. In addition, the cause of death can be a tick. It is easy to learn about his presence if you carefully examine the leaves. They are small, dark in color and a small cobweb is visible on them. In this case, you should definitely treat the seedlings with “Tiovit” or “Jet”, you can use any other anti-pest drug. Permanent rooting can lead to death. Waterlogging of the soil leads to partial, and sometimes complete decay of the root system. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to reduce watering and make several additional drainage holes through which water can drain freely. If you constantly fertilize plants, then this can cause an overdose that will ruin the seedlings. Therefore, carefully monitor how often you feed your plants, and in case of overfeeding, spray the seedlings several times with plain water. One of the common problems with seedlings is the "black leg" disease. It is able to ruin all sown plants in a short time. You can fight this disease by etching and warming the earth. Seedlings are treated with a weak solution of potassium permanganate, and the soil is sprinkled with calcined sand. It is important to consider that the sand has to cool, otherwise the stems of the plants can be damaged. Sick plant should be planted in a separate container. And all the rest should be treated as prevention.
