Follow the history of your interests and hobbies. What were you interested in as a child? Maybe they painted, sculpted, photographed, composed stories that they told grandmother in the evenings. It is quite possible that you showed yourself in a completely different field: you opened your own “store” and traded, like Tom Sawyer, bright pebbles and rubber balls. Or, for days on end, they were busy in the garden side by side with their mother and watched with trepidation as the marigolds grew in the garden. Somewhere in these children's amusements and lies, buried in the cares of youths and adults, your talents and abilities. It remains only to open this talent and no longer bury it in the ground.

Gradually begin to try different activities, not embarrassed by their possible childishness. If you liked to come up with different games before, then maybe a cool teacher disappears in you? If you climbed on a birch and drew the surrounding views with a simple pencil, then try to pick up drawing accessories now: even if the new Shishkin does not work out for you, you can always do the design of your own home or garden. The main thing is not to be afraid, do not stop and try, try, try.

Pay attention to your personality traits. Of course, in your own eyes, and in the eyes of others, you are a complete image that does not need to be divided into its constituent parts. But introspection in this situation can greatly help you. Are you active and easily find a common language with people? You must have lost a real shopkeeper (and you don’t need to frown: you must be able to sell and buy wisely too). Do you perceive the surrounding nature as an artistic image? Describe this in verse. Always start from yourself, and not from the standards and prejudices with which society presses you. First of all, you live your life for yourself.

Turn to professional artists and art historians: they will appreciate your masterpieces more or less objectively. Do not despair if the assessment is negative. It just means that you haven’t dug up your true talent yet, but you have dug up a stranger and are trying to hang him on yourself.
