There are 4 main types of memory - visual, auditory, motor and combined. Given the type specific to you, you can achieve great success in training, self-education and work. A simple experiment will help you figure out your type.

Auditory memory. Ask your assistant to read out the first row of words aloud (these should be any nouns: wall, phone, hippo, etc.). The interval between words when reading is 3 seconds; 10 seconds after the end of reading the entire series, write down on a piece of paper everything that you remember.

Visual memory. The next step is to read the words of the second row to yourself within 1 minute. After that, turn the card over and try to reproduce the words that you remember.

Motor memory. Now ask the assistant to read the words of the third row aloud, repeat each in a whisper and “write” in the air. Play on a piece of everything that you remember.

Combined memory. The assistant shows you the words on the card, then reads them out. You repeat each word in a whisper, "write" in the air. You write down on a piece of paper everything that you remember.

The formula for calculating the prevailing memory coefficient (C) is C = a / 10, where a is the number of correctly reproduced words. It is clear that the prevailing type of memory is determined by the series in which the largest number of words was reproduced.
