First of all, analyze in which cases a feeling of fear arises and how it manifests itself. To do this, take a notebook and begin to record situations, noting when and why fear arose, how it manifested itself. Determine in which area you most often feel timid: at work or in your personal life. So it will be easier to establish the reason why you did not respond to the greeting of a pretty stranger, were embarrassed to adequately answer a rude colleague or simply express your opinion about the film, which was contrary to the opinion of a neighbor.

To balance the situation, also record all manifestations of your courage. Remember the feelings and sensations that you experienced at that moment. For each success, reward yourself with a “+” mark. Note for yourself in which areas it is easiest for you to show courage, this is important. If, for example, it’s easier for you to show courage in protecting someone, and not yourself - simulate the situation, do as you would, acting for another person.

Remember what you wanted to do, but you did not have the courage to do so. Write down all the cases you remember, from an early age. Make a list from the simplest to the most complex, and start from the first point.

Set a goal and do daily exercises at every opportunity: ask the person in a hurry for directions, make a note to the most scandalous person in the line, and when you meet in the corridor, say hello to the director general of your company by name and patronymic. If it’s hard to dare, play a game that everyone has known since childhood “as if”. Imagine that you are not you, but an auditor, boss or a non-resident tourist, and at the same time the most courageous person. Try to choose difficult tasks.

If you are unable to complete the exercise or planned action, do not abandon it, perform it next time.

Come to the internal changes through the external. Change the hairstyle, appearance, style, clothes.

Try to surprise your close friends who know you very well and do not expect that you will dive into the sea with scuba diving or stand on roller skates. Do not avoid situations where there is a share of risk, take this situation as a personal challenge.
