In Russia, interest in the theory of intuitive nutrition only began to wake up when in America and in Western Europe, starting from the 70s of the last century, serious research was already conducted in this area and even special clinics were opened.

However, psychologists and psychotherapists manage such clinics. And this is true. After all, the problem of overweight lies not in the body, but in the head. The concept is that all diets are harmful, because they impose restrictions on the choice of products, the usual food system. As you know, the forbidden fruit is sweet. The more bans, the more you want to break them.

Echoes of this method can be found in the recommendations of some nutritionists who believe that when following a diet you need to focus not on the idea that it’s impossible, but rather that you can: "I can eat any vegetables, fruits, cereals, dark chocolate." This conclusion makes it easier.

Intuitive nutrition allows you to eat everything, but approach this reasonably. Indeed, often we eat not because we feel hunger, but "for company", because it is a holiday. Moreover, the table "breaks" from the dishes, not because so many guests are expected, but for the sake of demonstrating their own well-being. Supporters of intuitive nutrition are confident that food in modern society identifies everything in a row. A birthday is celebrated not by a fascinating event for the whole family, but by a feast, a funeral - by a feast, trouble at work “sticks”, successes too.

When the cause of gluttony is determined, being overweight is easier to handle. And do not fight, but to cope. We must find a hobby that will replace the extra portion. Intuitive nutrition is not a diet, but a rational, balanced, healthy diet, where there is everything, but in a moderate dosage. It is important to love your outer shell - the body. Do not scourge yourself for the extra 100 grams eaten, but accept yourself for who you are and begin the path of self-improvement.

In Russia, it is believed that the theory of intuitive nutrition belongs to the American professor Stephen Hawks, who summarized his research and his own experience (Hawks was also overweight) in 2005. However, the first main points were brought by Theila Weller in the 70th year. In 1978, the book of psychotherapists D. Hirschmann and C. Munter was published entitled "Overcoming Overeating." In 1995, the work of Evelyn Triboli and Eliza Resh followed.
