The game helps a person to become free and to know himself more deeply. Under any way, two fundamental facets are hidden: the appearance of the hero and his internal state. An important role is played by the environment in which the character is located.

Examine the situation in which your hero will act. Much depends on the event context: attire, manner of presentation, active vocabulary. Evaluate what behavior would be appropriate for your character, what words he can use and with what intonation to pronounce them. For example, the count will keep intelligent, speak slowly and, perhaps, slightly dismissively and arrogantly.

Think of a character costume. It should seamlessly flow into the background of the social environment and at the same time demonstrate your personality. If you play a person who goes against the opinion of society, select the appropriate setting. Build on the character of your hero, his aspirations, views on life. Who is he - an active revolutionary or a dreamer-romantic? Seductive Don Juan or gentle tactful intellectual? To truly get used to the image, you need to put together a lot of defining details. Also consider makeup and accessories.

Imagine how the hero’s voice should sound. Think about what intonations are characteristic of him, how his facial expressions and gestures will differ. Speech can be smooth and intermittent, lively and monotonous, calm and excited. Build your speech image based on what events preceded the monologue, what thoughts you want to convey to the audience, what emotions can be filled with speech.

An extremely important aspect of the character is his internal state. Dissolve yourself in the image of a hero, try on his personality traits. Depict the character's experiences with exaggeration, grotesquely. If it is joy, let it be unrestrained, if melancholy, show world sorrow. The grotesque will be a great workout for you.

Rehearse to get in touch with the image you play. Repeat the hero’s remarks, even mentally, to yourself. Close your eyes and act out the scene. It’s useful to “browse” the script before going to bed. Try to work out the character’s gait, enter the image during ordinary walks. It is interesting to fantasize that it’s not you who go to the store, but Napoleon himself. Just be careful, do not tear yourself away from real life until you lose orientation.

The ability to enter the image helps in various life situations. So, sometimes you need to show self-confidence, will and firmness, and sometimes play a riddle, flirty, cheerfulness. It is especially useful to get used to the images of timid and shy people. Be the person you want to be, and with the rising feeling of insecurity firmly say to yourself: "I am an actor! This is a game!" There are no winners, but you can easily lose by yielding to your weaknesses and stepping back.
