It is well known that in all mass media, in particular in the press, on television and radio, very often various strategies and tactics of manipulation are used, with the help of which an impact on the consciousness of the viewer occurs. Moreover, the object of manipulation almost immediately begins to reflect the actions necessary for the manipulator in real life, feeling that he is acting consciously. So how do you still understand where the manipulation is, and where is the truth? And what should be done in order not to become the object of manipulation?

There are a number of tactics and strategies for providing manipulative actions that are most often used in the media:

  • Forcing emotions. Perhaps every consumer of information at least once in his life caught this trick. Quite often, especially on television, presenters begin to breed panic and scare society for no apparent reason. At the same time, their speech tone changes, becoming sharper and spasmodic. A feeling is formed that the authors of a particular program give out trivial things as a great revelation, thereby intimidating viewers with their manipulative influence.

  • References to undefined sources. You may have noticed that sometimes facilitators try to influence our minds by referring to someone else's opinion. But if you hear words and phrases such as “according to the majority, ” “some have said, ” “some think, ” then you should know that such sources of information can in no way be considered authoritative. And, most likely, the authors of the program simply invent the data they need.

  • Fabrication of facts. This type of manipulation is used by the most fearless presenters who will think over non-existent facts similar to real ones in advance, and then introduce them into our consciousness. And we, in turn, take them for the truth.

  • The use of repetitions. On television and radio very often use the tactic of repeating any information. For example, in one of the Russian documentaries, the phrase “Marketing specialists deceive us all” is often repeated. After its pronunciation, usually inconclusive facts are given that prove the existence of this deception. Such repetitions quite effectively affect our subconscious and form mental attitudes, personal worldview.

  • Aggression. This strategy is especially demanded at various political shows, when those leading with the help of special speech turns, as well as means of artistic expression, aggressively speak out about any problem. We pick up his mood and unconsciously begin to agree with him.

There are many other methods of manipulation, however, the ones listed above are most in demand in modern media. And in order to avoid speech exposure, you need to have information about the manipulations and know that they are still used in all media. It must be understood that each fact must have its own evidence, each opinion is an in-depth analysis of the situation. If all this is not there, then perhaps you should not trust unverified data. In such cases, you need to make every effort to verify their credibility.
