Insecurity, complexes, guilt are signs that a person does not love himself. This affects the behavior, makes it difficult to be relaxed and happy. Accepting oneself makes it possible to enjoy every day, to be free in behavior and thoughts.

A share of criticism to one’s level of development, appearance should be present in a person. Inflated self-esteem is not healthy, it is important to be adequate, to really look at yourself, to understand bad and good qualities. And you do not need to constantly compare yourself with someone, there is only one guideline - you yourself. If today you are better than yesterday, then everything is fine, you are moving in the right direction.

My shortcomings are my pluses

To love yourself, accept your positive and negative sides. It is important to realize that in each person there are different qualities, there are no people with only good traits. But one can always look at human qualities from different angles. Some shortcomings sometimes become very important virtues if properly evaluated.

Perform a simple exercise. Divide a sheet of paper with a vertical strip into 2 parts. In the left column write your “bad” qualities. They can be any, but it is important to find them as many as possible. Write all the claims that you can make yourself. Take your time, you can even ask loved ones, they will help. When the list is ready, write on another part of the sheet when the qualities that you remembered before helped you in your life. For example, "stubborn" on the right side, and on the left - "knows how to defend opinion", "achieves its goals." The latter can be especially appreciated at work.

Look at your list and understand that everything you have is just a plus. And accept this not as a negative, but as a feature, as something that makes you unique.

Achievement List

To love yourself, you need to find a reason for this. Usually a person only blames himself for not having time, not saying, or could not do. But it's time to start thinking differently. This exercise must be performed every night, and then you will feel love for yourself in a couple of weeks.

Write the things you can be proud of yourself. What good have you done for your life, how you are useful to relatives and society, what is beautiful in your person. Find the maximum number of advantages. Think about what you can thank yourself for and complete the list. After that, write something else on the list every night. Even washing clothes for the family, preparing dinner is a reason to be proud of ourselves, it is an occasion to thank ourselves. Love yourself for doing so much, rejoice that the world needs you.

Self-love is formed gradually. It is necessary to look at yourself from the good side, and try not to notice the flaws. Be gentle to yourself, to your shortcomings, because everyone has them. Smile at yourself in a mirror, but do not look for extra kilos. Concentrate on the beautiful, and then everything will be much simpler.
