This word in the meaning of personality traits is not mentioned in the largest dictionaries. Nevertheless, many people primarily understand responsibility as a certain special quality of personality. Responsibility - the ability and consent of a person to pay with time, money, degree of freedom for the result of a certain activity. And in some cases - even to be punished, although the punishment itself, as a rule, does not correct the situation. In these cases, responsibility means special justice of the person in relation to himself: "I deserve it, which means that I will be responsible for my actions."

The word is ancient, it appeared on one model in many languages, and in all dialects it is associated with the ability to react, respond, and also with punishment. Initially, the punishment was quite material, that is, it had practical meaning. For the murder, for example, the price of compensation for material and moral damage was set, speaking in modern language.

In our time, responsibility is associated with the need and ability of an individual to keep his word and make decisions, considering the situation from the perspective of not only his interests. Responsibility is more than a person’s ability to abide by an agreement, that is, be mandatory. But binding is an integral part of responsibility.
Responsibility appears only where more than one person is involved, that is, responsibility is not formed outside of society. Even in cases when a person responsibly does something “for himself” or “for God”, educated quality is still implied.

The deeper a person has connections with other people, the greater the likelihood that a person will be responsible. For the formation of this quality, the experience of responsible relationships is important. Only a real person can be called responsible. For example, if a young man does not marry, but cohabits with a lady, motivating his reluctance with the fact that he, as a responsible person, takes the issue of marriage very seriously - his relationship cannot be called responsible. He did not try a real marriage, and in fact he enjoys all the benefits of marriage, but does not want to bear responsibility.

Responsibility is an essential quality of a leader. However, in our time, a somewhat unhealthy attitude is being formed in relation to leadership. It is argued that everyone should want to be a leader. This is a trap for those responsible people who do not have the ability to manage people. Responsibility forces them to lose health at work, to which they are not addicted. This is especially dangerous for men who get heart attacks at a young age, mainly because of work-related experiences.
So, responsibility is social and is proved by deeds, and its measure should be determined by each person in accordance with the possibilities.
