Often you hear the combination of "Olympic calm" in relation to individuals. Everyone understands that we are talking about equanimity, endurance. But few people thought more specifically about the meaning of this expression.

In ancient Greek mythology, Olympus is the mountain where the gods sat. For mere mortals, the entrance there was closed. Immortal gods did not reach either anxiety or human fuss - calm always reigned on Olympus. The gods indifferently looked from heaven and were invariably solemn, majestic and unperturbed.

Based on this, "Olympic calm" can be explained as "divine indifference." A person with Olympic calmness in our eyes always looks calm, restrained, unemotional, has excellent self-control, and is cold-blooded.

Of course, heredity plays a role in the fact that a person has such character traits, but basically it is the result of painstaking work on oneself, this is not a gift of fate, but the formation of character.

A person with an Olympic character has values, he is determined to achieve his goals. But at the same time he has an excellent sense of proportion and avoids extremes. Sometimes it seems that a purposeful and active person is doomed to constant excitement and stress. But this is not so. Aged, cold-blooded, he maintains a clear picture of his desires - this gives him stability. He is not distracted by trifles and is constantly moving forward.

The secret of Olympic calm is to relate to the environment without undue bias. If a person thinks that he is surrounded by enemies, then he is constantly in tension, does not trust anyone, expects only fraud and a trick. And with such an attitude to life, it is difficult to achieve success, because all the time it takes to protect yourself from surrounding detractors. Therefore, such a person can hardly be called calm and unemotional.

Too much attachment to the environment does not add Olympic calmness to a person either. A person seems to freeze in one place, directing all his thoughts and actions only to his loved ones, constantly worrying about them. Such excitement does not allow him to move forward, fully participate in life.

Therefore, in order to achieve Olympic tranquility, it is necessary to distinguish between insignificant annoying incidents and really major failures, and not to focus on annoying moments too seriously. Go through life with ease and humor, understand and forgive others.
