At many children's parties, one can notice the presence of funny clowns who try to make guests laugh. However, not all people consider them funny and harmless.

Fear of clowns is a disease called coulrophobia or clownphobia. Why are some adults afraid of these harmless creatures and what is the reason?

Perhaps some of this phobia developed due to some horror films that really impressed the person and left a deep imprint in life. But besides this, there are several more reasons for the occurrence of coulrophobia.

Bright, screaming makeup is the most common cause of this fear. A bright artificial smile, a white face and a round unnatural nose will not amuse everyone. In addition, it is not always clear what is hidden behind the innocuous smile of a simpleton.

The stage image also owes a lot. Often, clowns, trying to make the audience laugh, expressively move, use artificial tears and try to humiliate their companion in the scene. Most clown outfits are very bright, which on a subconscious level can cause panic.

The child’s subconscious is much more difficult to understand. If a child became afraid of simple clowns, then it is possible that shortly before that, he simply did not like or was not impressed by the performance of the stupid clown, and this was deposited deep in the subconscious mind of the baby. And now this phobia has manifested itself and reminded of itself.

But it is not always possible to determine what exactly influenced the formation of clownophobia, because each person is purely individual, and he cannot be given an accurate description. Therefore, in order to fully deal with your fears, you need to visit a specially trained person - a psychologist. And do not be afraid to tell him the whole truth, as his profession is designed to help people deal with their fears. And it is worth remembering that clowns are designed to make fun and decorate boring everyday life, and not to scare the audience with their smile and performance in general. It is possible that considering a clown as a human profession, you can better understand and stop being afraid of funny and groovy people.
