Feelings of excess and lack of motivation are the extremes in which most people exist. But if you want to be a successful person, then you need to achieve a state of optimal motivation that will never leave you. Its formation depends on such important factors as willpower and the right choice of actions, as well as on your personal mood for this or that activity.

The development of optimal motivation is largely intertwined with the concept of willpower, as well as the choice we make with it (read a book or postpone for better times; clean up the house or wait for total chaos; start preparing for the exam or postpone everything for the last days). Thus, the optimal motivation largely depends on the problem of choice, and the choice itself, a specific step in favor of which a person actually chooses, is a direct manifestation of willpower.

That is, the formation of optimal motivation can be determined by the following chain of elements acting one after another: the right choice - action - the appearance of neutral motivation.

Optimal motivation comes only in the process of doing things. Prior to this, the brain, as it were, rejects the possibility of completing a difficult task. However, this is a typical defense reaction of any organism. And just starting to do something, moving on to practice, you can directly start the process of motivation.

Optimal motivation is a great alternative to excessive or insufficient motivation.

Excess motivation generates unnecessary fussiness, a misinterpretation of one’s capabilities. Surely such situations happened to you when motivation literally raged in your mind, you wanted to work, work, believe that the results of this work will not keep you waiting. But, as a rule, after such excessive motivation, there come periods of crisis, depression, when it seems that everything that you are striving for is, in fact, something unattainable, illusory. Therefore, we can conclude that excessive motivation increases the illusory nature.

Lack of motivation is a priori a negative phenomenon, which is most likely associated with stressful periods in life, low self-esteem, dullness of life. The reasons for the lack of motivation can be the following: spending a large amount of time alone with oneself, disharmony with one’s thoughts, states, intrapersonal conflicts. But sometimes in the morning it’s enough to go outside, take an elementary walk, go to the nearest store - and the lack of motivation is neutralized. However, another method also works perfectly, the application of which does not force one to leave even the boundaries of the house - a harmonious way of life, harmony with one’s thoughts, relatives, and the surrounding space.

Recently, the word “motivation” has begun to take on a negative connotation for many people. Perhaps this is due to a change in outlook on this concept. Indeed, following from the theses described above, it is possible to replace the concept of “motivation” (meaning “optimal” manifestation of it) by personifying willpower embodied in an action that must be performed to complete some important task or to achieve a goal.
