At the junction of socionics, psychology, time management, there is such a section - goal-setting. Goal-setting is both the concept and the first stage of any conscious process. Indeed, in order to achieve any results, it is necessary to clearly determine what kind of results you are going to achieve, by what methods, in what time frames and so on.

You will need

  • - paper;

  • - pen or pencil.

one

At the first stage, you will be required to determine in writing the circle of your key interests. Try to meet the number "7 + 2". An example would be: family, work, home, travel, and more.

2

Now try to identify and write out things that are of primary importance to yourself (life values). Try also not to go beyond the "7 + 2". Let it be personal development, career, wealth, independence, family and so on.

3

Define and write down your current goals. Write down only the most significant ones: marry L., become the head of the department, get a third higher education, repair the apartment, improve your health, bring a new product to the market.

4

Evaluate all the links between values (how one current goal can contribute to or hinder the achievement of another). For example, apartment renovation will most beneficially affect your state of health (minus the fungus in the walls, minus decibels from noisy neighbors, more fresh air, and so on). The launch of a new product on the market may well be your promotion to the head of marketing. At the same time, the appointment of you as the head of the department will certainly affect the income level, and therefore it will be easier to organize a wedding and apartment renovation. Well and so on.

5

Draw a table where your life values will be located on top of the column name (remember, did you write them out?), And on the side are your current goals. The last vertical column is the “total”. This matrix is necessary so that you can set priorities, create a hierarchy of goals. Evaluate (for example, on a ten-point scale) the contribution of each current goal to your life values. So, for example, getting the position of the head of the department will seriously move you towards achieving prosperity (+8 in the table cell at the intersection of “Goals. Become the head of the department” and “Life Values. Welfare”), gaining independence (+6), personal development (+7) But apartment renovation or marriage to L., will not bring anything into your career (0), independence (0), significantly worsen your well-being (0), but, perhaps, help to create a family. Evaluate the result obtained for each item (add all the numbers in the cells opposite each of the goals). The greatest number will be in the column "Results" opposite the highest priority of goals. At the same stage, evaluate the long-term duration of each goal. For example, to become the head of a department and to be as long as possible is a long-term goal; to graduate from a university in a few years is a medium-term goal; apartment renovation is a short-term goal.

6

The next stage no longer belongs to setting goals, but to planning for their achievement. Here you will need to evaluate all the necessary resources to achieve each of the goals. For example, in order to become the head of a department, it is necessary: higher education, length of service, experience of successful work in the field of specialization of the department, friendships with N.N. Now you should evaluate your available resources, as well as what is missing for achieving the goal. You should consider how to get the missing. This phase is called "resource analysis".

7

Now the analysis of the "goal-task". At this stage, you should make a list of tasks that must be solved to achieve the goal. From this stage it is already possible to proceed to the planning of achieving the goal with a calendar in hand, that is, it is already possible to determine the timing for achieving each of the set goals. To do this at this stage will be quite easy.

Useful advice

The zero stage in this algorithm could be the stage of checking the “target for lice”. Most people live, pursuing not their own goals, but goals imposed on them from the outside - by parents, society and so on (for example, your true goal is to become an artist and live in Goa, but you, due to parental suggestions, social values, decided to earn money on advertising). From the point of view of motivation, it is very important to separate one's own goals from imposed ones.
