Often from adults, mature and elderly people you can hear regrets that they did not have time to do something, did not trust themselves and their desires, did not take a chance once and did not fulfill all that they dreamed about. The heroes of the film “Until I Played in the Box” (The Bucket List, 2007) at the end of their life’s journey had the opportunity to do much of what they did not have time in their entire lives. What if others will not have such an opportunity? In order not to regret the years spent aimlessly, you just need to learn to hear yourself - your inner voice.

More often than not, people begin to listen to themselves during moments of great upheaval, loss, or major failure. When there is no time and energy left to somehow solve the current situation, a person finally turns inwardly, to his internal resources, to his inner voice, to himself real. But you can not wait for the so-called push. You can and even need to listen and hear your inner voice, which at first barely breaks out, in order to live a life in which you would not want to change anything later.

Recall the "inner child"

Since childhood, everyone has been taught how to live, how to get married or look for a wife, how and where to study, how to build a career and how important it is to get a high status in society. But for some reason, no one teaches that everyone has their own understanding of this. Inside each person from childhood, a small child, who is afraid of saying something or saying, simply is not heard, sitting around these rules and recommendations. It is important to remember him, this living inside and daydreaming, perhaps about something unrealizable kid and let him break out. He will tell you what he would like and what, accordingly, will make his adult owner happy. If you can’t manage to get him out with the help of meditative techniques or insistent requests, you can turn for help to professionals - psychologists or psychotherapists who will wake up the part of the person who is responsible for creativity.

To meditate

Being able to go inside is also important for being able to understand yourself and hear the inner self or inner voice. The ability to be alone with yourself can and should be developed. Many people cannot imagine life without background accompaniment in the form of conversations, idling a TV or tape recorder, radio or some other noise effects. But to break through all these obstacles is quite difficult, because the inner voice and stalls, not having time to convey true desires. One must be able to be distracted from everything, and therefore it is important to master the simplest meditative techniques: just sit or lie in silence, trying to drive all thoughts out of your head and trying to perceive the truth. Advanced meditators may ask, “What do I want now?” and try to understand those images and thoughts that are born at this time in the head.

Make out dreams

If meditation is not yet available, and all thought processes do not stop in the weary brain, you can turn to the subconscious mind, which also tries to convey to everyone the voice of the inner self. It is easiest to understand what is happening in the subconscious through the interpretation of dreams. Moreover, it is not necessary to read dream books or recall the interpretation of the dreams of the great and terrible Z. Freud, who saw the sexual background in everything, it is important to understand that the images from dreams mean specifically to you. If there is a problem with remembering dreams, you can put a sheet with a pen right at the pillow and barely wake up, write down at least a couple of lines about what was happening in your own reality now. Then it will be easier to restore the entire chain.

To keep a diary

To understand what makes a person happy, you need to track your emotions and analyze their appearance. You can start a diary in which it is not necessary to write down a day by minute, and notice only what gave rise to the most powerful emotions (both positive and negative) during the day. This will allow you to better understand yourself, notice the change in mood and its causes, hear your inner voice and, possibly, begin to change your life or your attitude to it.
