Sadness can be light and painful, light and depressing, fleeting and very strong, turning into depression and despondency. This feeling is familiar to many, and the reasons why people are sad are very vast and varied.

Where does sadness come from?

Despite the fact that sadness and sadness are familiar to many, it is rather difficult to describe this state. According to psychologists, sadness is an emotional response to something negative, representing a short-term and not very deep experience. Often sadness is not even caused by events that happened in real life, but only by thoughts about them. For pessimistic people, sadness can even accompany plans - they doubt in advance their strengths and capabilities, starting to grieve even before the start of an important business. Sadness can also be part of nostalgia, when people remember the events of the past days, experiencing vague sadness because they can no longer be returned.

The causes of sadness are very diverse. If some people, faced with serious life troubles, do not lose heart, maintaining optimism, then others just need to become involuntary witnesses of something not very pleasant or hear minor music to feel sad. Emotionally unstable people are most susceptible to sadness, although, on the other hand, this feeling does not last long, quickly giving way to other sensations.

"My sadness is light"

There are many musical works, as well as movies or books that cause sad emotions. Despite the fact that they cause not the most joyful sensations, their popularity is very high. What is the secret of the demand for such "minor" art? Perhaps people are attracted by the opportunity to experience feelings, albeit not very pleasant, but associated with important periods of their lives. Almost everyone had so-called “black bars” throughout their life's journey. However, as you know, the night is darkest before dawn, and after painful periods, sooner or later a neutral or more positive one comes. Experiencing sadness, nostalgia, or even melancholy under the influence of sad music or a movie, people try to normalize their emotional background - everything, according to experts, must be balanced. A person cannot always be joyful or sad, emotions tend to replace each other.
