Intelligence is, rather, a property of a person, rather than a set of some specific qualities of character and manifestations. But if you try to systematize everything that distinguishes an intelligent person from an ordinary person, you can clearly see his most striking and leading features.

Of course, high education is not intelligence in itself, but it is what unites all intelligent people as a whole. Education is not limited to a narrow professional circle of interests, but is constantly growing, increasing in volume, expanding in a wide variety of fields.

2

A book is an integral attribute of an intelligent person, and not so much because reading is necessary, but simply impossible not to read, something to be learned, developing and supplementing one’s thought. An intelligent person is driven by some invisible force towards culture, knowledge, thought.

3

An intelligent person is basically a theorist. Even if he is engaged in some very specific business, he will achieve great success in it, but the main thing that drives him is thought. It can even be argued that it is for the sake of thought that he acts, and this thought feeds all his affairs. Continuous mental activity is what distinguishes an intelligent person from a simple one.

4

In his affairs, an intelligent person is aimed at universality, he wants to discover something that will be useful and acceptable to all mankind. In this sense, we can say that he respects the interests of the common good. Therefore, such as a teacher, doctor, writer, actor, artist are always considered to be truly intelligent professions - these are people who work for the benefit of all people.

5

An intelligent person always acutely feels reality, and, consequently, all its flaws and imperfections. His high sensitivity to deception, lies, hypocrisy, dishonesty, the troubles of completely strangers do not leave you indifferent. Often, all these experiences are much higher than taking care of yourself, your family and friends.

6

Therefore, activity, both concrete physical and mental, is aimed at remaking the existing reality. An intelligent person wants to create a world in which everyone will be fine. He is intoxicated with his work, his occupation, and often, while working in one area, he manages to change something, somehow influence people, even from his inner circle.

7

And that is why, carrying these qualities in himself, an intelligent person is distinguished by a high communication culture, simplicity, and attention to the person he is talking to. It seems that this person is as close as possible and, at the same time, as far away from you as possible. And this assumption is true, because the field of its existence is not here and now, next to you, but in the head, in thoughts and ideas, in an endless internal dialogue.
